The Bikini Beach Band bill themselves as the twangtastic kings of surf noir, a sound built around frontman and guitarist Jesus C. Escovedo, a former surfing champion whose backstory has him arriving in Southampton with almost nothing after leaving his homeland for political reasons. An early instrumental single was overshadowed by the arrival of Beatlemania, but the band has kept the surf-guitar sound going since. Doors are at 7:30pm. Tickets are £10.
