Introduction to Machine Shop: Chopping Board

A single-day woodworking course covering safe use of the bandsaw, chopsaw, pillar drill and sanders while making a personalised chopping board. After a talk on hardwood types, participants select timber, design their board and build it with tutor guidance, taking it home afterwards. Includes a Level 1 Health & Safety induction, which unlocks future bench bookings. Wear sturdy boots and cotton/wool clothing; the environment is dusty, so those with respiratory conditions should consult a doctor first. Runs 10am–4:30pm (6.5 hours). Refunds available up to one week before the course.
