Running 10am-5pm (about 7 hours) for £125, this day course teaches participants to make their own hand-crafted brush from scratch. It covers wood-shaping methods using jigsaws, straight and curved knives, rasps and spokeshaves, followed by both stitched and glued methods of fitting bristles before trimming them to finish. It suits beginners with an interest in heritage crafts who want to leave with a finished, practical object; no prior experience is mentioned as necessary. Attendees should wear sturdy shoes or boots and durable trousers such as jeans - trainers and shorts are not permitted. Booking is required via the website. The course takes place in Studio 2, which has no step-free access and requires climbing three flights of stairs.
