Adam Taylor explores the story of Jemmy Button, a teenager brought from Tierra del Fuego to Walthamstow in 1830 as part of an imperial 'civilising experiment'. The talk covers his 18-month stay in the parish, an audience with the King, and his eventual return to South America. Presented by Walthamstow Historical Society as part of its regular talks programme.
