In Tupi-Guarani Boiçucanga means "big-headed snake" and was named after the similarity of the mountainous formation in its left corner. This mountain formerly divided the territory of the Tupinambás and Tupiniquins Indians. With 1 km of soft yellow sand, open and limpid sea, boiçucanga is a permanent invitation to visitors.
