‘Made in Walthamstow’ Documentary Highlights Local Culture Through Football

A new documentary titled Made in Walthamstow has been released, celebrating the borough’s unique intersection of design, football, and community heritage. The film explores the history of replica football kits and their links to iconic designer William Morris, whose legacy permeates local culture.
Produced with contributions from community members, the film features interviews with local figures including MP Stella Creasy and cultural leader Hadrian Garrard. It reflects on the role of Walthamstow in shaping not just football aesthetics, but also the identity of modern British fandom.
Screenings have taken place at venues such as the William Morris Gallery, connecting past and present through art and sport.
The documentary has drawn praise for its warm portrayal of Walthamstow’s vibrant character and its grassroots storytelling.
