Stargazing at Walthamstow: Afrofutures in the Skies - science, imagination and cultural identity

An evening talk and guided walk presented by Michael Lomotey of StowStargazers, in partnership with London Wildlife Trust. The talk examines how access to the night sky, once shared across cultures, became a racialised experience through urban segregation and environmental injustice, before an after-hours walk through the reserve to view constellations, weather permitting. You can bring your own binoculars and a red-light torch. Aimed at adults, beginners welcome. Tickets cost £22 via Eventbrite; refunds are available if cancelled at least 7 days ahead. Gravel paths with gentle inclines and wheelchair-accessible ramps are available; assistance dogs only.
