Walthamstow Trades Hall will host a Queer Christmas Market later this month. It celebrates LGBTQ+ artists, makers and independent businesses from across the borough and beyond.

Waltham Forest Pride Collective is organising the market, which runs on Saturday 28 November from 1pm to 5pm. The organisers call it "the first market of its kind in Waltham Forest dedicated specifically to queer artists and makers."

Stalls will sell original artwork, prints and illustrations, handmade jewellery and crafts, independent publications and other work by queer makers. There will also be festive decorations, Christmas carol singing, seasonal drinks from Trades Hall and activities for children.

The Pride Collective says the event reflects Waltham Forest's "vibrant LGBTQ+ community and a wealth of creative talent," and that the aim is to create "a festive event where everyone feels welcome."

Profits from the day will go to Stonewall Housing, which supports LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness and housing insecurity.

The celebrations continue into the night with an afterparty from 8pm to 1am. Performers A Man To Pet, Sarjana, Die Lemma and Iris Glamorous will appear, with DJs Bradley Skeng and Suni Side Up.
