Walthamstow Sees Major Progress on New Housing Developments
25 Mar 2025
Waltham Forest Council has announced significant progress on several major housing projects aimed at easing local demand and expanding affordable housing options in Walthamstow.
One of the largest schemes is the Patchworks development on Forest Road, formerly the Homebase site. When complete, the site will include 583 homes, of which 228 will be affordable. The council reports that construction is well underway.
On Wood Street, the newly completed Precision House scheme delivers 67 affordable homes—29 for social rent and 38 for shared ownership. This is part of the council's strategy to provide diverse housing tenures and help more residents get on the property ladder.
Meanwhile, the Marlowe Road Estate Regeneration continues its phased rollout. Forty-seven new shared ownership homes have just gone to market, with an additional five homes for social rent expected to become available in April.
The council says the developments are designed with sustainability and community integration in mind, featuring modern designs and improved public spaces.
Waltham Forest's housing portfolio reflects a commitment to meeting the borough's long-term needs through mixed-use, high-quality developments. For more details or to register interest in new homes, residents can visit the council’s housing webpage.
