A Walthamstow band is putting on an all-day Christmas Jamboree at Signature Brew on 20 December, with every penny raised going to the Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter (FCENS).
Turncoat Billy, the band behind the December 2024 hit Snow in Walthamstow, are hosting. The line-up includes live performances and a DJ set from Gus of Mercury Prize winners Alt-J, alongside artists including Cian Downing, LD Williams and KIT.
"We really wanted to do something for the homeless at Christmas and this will be a jamboree for the ages, like an E17 Live Aid," said Jonny Pickles, the band's frontman. "We've got some incredible artists on the bill and we are delighted Gus has agreed to help out, he's an old friend and a top man. As with all our shows you can expect a surprise or two on the day and the more we can raise for the Night Shelter the better."
The date marks the band's return to Signature Brew after a sold-out show there in April 2025.
FCENS works with people experiencing homelessness in Waltham Forest, providing emergency shelter and help into settled housing. "Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter (FCENS) helps people experiencing homelessness in Waltham Forest, giving shelter at the YMCA, and support into a stable home," said David Hoskins, the charity's director. "At the Christmas Jamboree, you can help give someone a place to stay at FCENS this Christmas."
