Communities across Waltham Forest will come together on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November, to honour those who served and died in conflict. Waltham Forest Council has published details of the services taking place around the borough.
Walthamstow: the Civic Service
The borough's main civic service takes place at the Walthamstow War Memorial in Fellowship Square. Those taking part in the parade are asked to assemble at the William Morris Gallery by 10am, and the parade sets off at around 10.25am. The service of remembrance begins at 10.55am at the war memorial.
Chingford
Participants assemble from 10am at Chingford Fire Station on The Ridgeway (E4 6PP). The parade leaves at 10.40am for the War Memorial at King's Head Hill.
Leyton
A service at St Mary's Church begins at 10am. At 10.25am a parade will move into Coronation Gardens for the service at the War Memorial.
Leytonstone
The parade assembles at 9.45am in the B&M car park on Howard Road (E11 3PL) and sets off at 10am for the service at the Harrow Green Memorial.
Armistice Day
On Armistice Day, 11 November, council staff and councillors will gather in Fellowship Square, where the Union Flag will be lowered and a two-minute silence observed at 11am.
