If you've ever thought a job in film was for other people, here's a route in that costs nothing to walk.

ManifestWorksUK, a charity that opens pathways into living-wage work in London's film industry, has opened applications for its next intake. The scheme is built for people who have faced significant barriers — homelessness, imprisonment, or time in local authority care — and gives them the skills, connections and support to build a career in film.

The charity has been running in Los Angeles since 2014 and now offers its 11-week free training programme, with hands-on, industry-informed teaching, to people in London.

By the end of the course, participants are job-ready runners — the most common way into the industry. On successful graduation, ManifestWorks uses its links with the biggest production companies in London to match people with paid freelance roles, so they gain on-the-job experience straight away and start building a professional reputation and network.

Who can apply: you need to be 18 or over, able to commit to an 11-week programme running on Saturdays in London, and impacted by one or more of the following: homelessness, imprisonment, or the care system.

The deadline for the Autumn 2026 cohort is Friday 21st August 2026.
