Grass Fire Near Lea Bridge Road Brought Under Control by Firefighters

A grass fire that broke out near Lea Bridge Road in Walthamstow earlier today has been successfully extinguished by the London Fire Brigade.

The incident prompted a swift response, with six fire engines and approximately 40 firefighters attending the scene. An estimated acre of grassland was alight when crews arrived.

Firefighters worked quickly to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby areas. The fire was brought under control with no reported injuries, and no damage to nearby buildings has been confirmed.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and an investigation may follow. Residents were advised to avoid the area during the incident, but the scene has since been declared safe.

Dry conditions at this time of year can increase the risk of grass fires. The London Fire Brigade continues to urge the public to dispose of cigarettes and glass bottles properly and to avoid barbecues in parks and open spaces.
