Inquest opened into death of man found by bailiffs at his Walthamstow home

An inquest has been opened into the death of a man who was found at his home in Walthamstow by bailiffs who had come to repossess the property.

Tudor Sorin Iuga, 49, was found dead at his home in Hove Avenue on 3 July.

The inquest was opened at East London Coroner's Court on Monday 7 September. Senior coroner Graeme Irvine said bailiffs attended the home and found Mr Iuga unresponsive. Mr Irvine said drug paraphernalia and alcohol bottles were also found at the property.

Police were called to the scene, but officers were unable to identify a cause of death. Following toxicology tests, the cause of death was given as heart failure caused by cocaine toxicity.

Because the cause of death was unnatural, Mr Irvine opened an inquest, which will be investigated fully next January.
