The junction of Forest Road, Wood Street and Fulbourne Road is closed to traffic overnight until Monday 24th August while resurfacing works are carried out.
The closure runs between 8pm and 5am. During those hours the junction is "completely closed to traffic, except for emergency services", the council said, and some parking bays are temporarily suspended.
Signed diversion routes are in place for motorists, and bus routes are being diverted too — worth factoring in if you are relying on a late service through that corner of Walthamstow.
In a statement shared through council leader Paul Perkins' newsletter, the town hall told residents: "We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and will do our best to minimise disruption while these works are being carried out."
The resurfacing forms part of the council's Forest Road Scheme, which has already delivered segregated cycle tracks, trees, blended crossings, a segregated pedestrian and cycle crossing, and a raised junction along the road and its junctions. More information about the scheme is available online.
