Decolonise Fest, the festival built around punk and alternative artists of colour, comes back to Signature Brew on Blackhorse Road on 3 and 4 October — its ninth year, and its largest so far.
The final names have now been added to the bill. FROZEMODE, Miki Berenyi, Third Kulture, Hang Linton, Silver Tabby and TM Distant join a lineup already featuring Sacred Paws, Baby Said, Uninvited, Mashaal, eatboys and Dygora. Twelve live acts in all, alongside workshops, panel discussions and creative activities across the weekend.
"This is our ninth year running Decolonise Fest and we're so excited to host another festival packed with an amazing representation of the genre-bending, forward-looking POC alternative music that is around today," said festival spokesperson Alex Ekong.
The festival has been running since 2017, and its stages have a habit of catching people early: Nova Twins, Bob Vylan and Big Joanie all played it before wider audiences found them. It has since travelled beyond London through its Decolonise Fest On Tour series.
This year's edition is supported by Arts Council England and the Supporting Grassroots Music Fund.
