Twelve people were evacuated from properties around Church Hill in Walthamstow on Monday evening after a residential building suffered a partial roof collapse.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 9pm on 10th August, with one fire engine attending from Walthamstow Fire Station. The London Fire Brigade evacuated residents from surrounding properties while the Metropolitan Police closed the road and managed traffic.
No one was hurt. Authorities put the collapse down to structural problems with the building.
"Officers attended alongside the London Fire Brigade to assist with closing the road and traffic management," a Met spokesperson said, adding that "no injuries were reported and no arrests have been made."
The cordon was still in place the following morning, and the W12 and 212 bus routes were diverted around the closure.
Waltham Forest Council told residents: "There is currently a road closure in place on Church Hill, E17 whilst the fire service deal with a damaged roof to a property in the vicinity."
The closure was expected to stay in place until Tuesday morning. Drivers travelling through the area were advised to use alternative routes.
