Waltham Forest Council has launched a consultation on proposed improvements to Chingford Road in Walthamstow. The scheme, covering the stretch between Crooked Billet Roundabout and Forest Road, aims to improve road safety and promote active travel.

Key proposals include the installation of fully segregated, stepped cycle tracks on both sides of the road, improved pedestrian crossings, new planting schemes, and measures to prioritise buses. The plans also suggest introducing double yellow lines and weekday no-loading restrictions in certain sections to accommodate the new infrastructure.

Residents were invited to submit feedback through an online consultation, which closed on 24 November. The council will now review responses before confirming the next steps.
