A day course at Blackhorse Workshop teaching traditional brushmaking: shaping a wooden handle from UK timber using jigsaws, knives, rasps and spokeshaves, then attaching bristles by stitching and gluing. Suited to beginners, it runs 10am-5pm in Studio 2 and costs £125. Sturdy shoes or boots must be worn (no trainers) as the workshop is a dusty environment that may affect those with respiratory conditions. Studio 2 has no step-free access (three flights of stairs); the main Workshop and Cafe are wheelchair accessible with a ground-floor toilet, hearing loop and blue badge parking available on request.
